Veeco China Nanotechnology Center
Veeco's China Nanotechnology Center is evidence of Veeco's continuing commitment to our R&D customers in China and the Asia Pacific region. The facility is staffed with local scientists and engineers and equipped with Veeco's latest Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) products (and other advanced nanotechnology application modules), Optical Profilers and Stylus Profilers. The CNC isjointly operated with the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

The tools are located in different departments within CAS:

• China Nanotechnology Center Beijing : di Multimode SPM, CPII SPM
• National Nanotechnology Centre NT1100 Optical Profiler, Dektak 6M Surface Profiler
• Shanghai JiaoTong University: di Nanoman

The facility will allow more researchers to use the demo tools for

• Demonstration of product capability
• Demo run of samples and reports
• Conducting basic and advanced SPM training for new users
• Advanced Application Support

Veeco India Nanotechnology Laboratory (VIN)
Veeco's Nanotechnology Laboratory in Bangalore, India is jointly operated with the Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research (JNC). The JNC promotes scientific research in interdisciplinary areas of science and engineering. This new Veeco-JNC Center, which opened in July 2005, represents Veeco's further commitment to support our R&D customers throughout the world in critical regions of nanoscience research. Now researchers and scientists in India will have access to state-of-the-art Veeco products.

The facility is fully staffed with local scientists and engineers and equipped with Veeco's latest Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) products and other advanced nanotechnology application modules.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research was established in 1989 by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Its main objective is to promote scientific research at the highest level in frontier and interdisciplinary areas of science and Engineering. The Centre was envisioned and founded by Prof. CNR Rao, Honorary President and Linus Pauling Professor, JNCASR. The Centre maintains close links with many institutes in India and abroad.
